Protect citizens and property by implementing proven flood control solutions that:
- manage our watersheds prudently for future generations
- enhance the quality of life
- create the most appealing multi-use facilities
- set an example of quality, integrity, leadership, and professionalism
- educate the public concerning flood hazards
- administer public funds prudently
SSCAFCA Goals and Commitments:
GOAL #1: To provide flood protection up to the 100 year storm for the public health, safety and welfare of residents and properties within its boundaries.
GOAL #2: To recognize the value of land purchased or controlled for floodways as areas with multi-use potential.
GOAL #3: To reduce sediment and erosion within the boundaries of the flood control authority.
GOAL #4: To assist in the coordination of flood control with other entities for the common good of the public.

DID YOU KNOW we are working diligently to clean out all SSCAFCA owned arroyos and drainage ways? This endeavor is to eliminate any chance of debris build up that could potentially cause flooding during the summer monsoon season. Our desire is to prevent problems rather than react to problems. Our goal is to ensure protection of your family and property from flooding. Our plan is to complete this task as quickly as possible.
There is a possibility that you might see heavy equipment in your neighborhood, working in and around the arroyos. Please be patient of our efforts and be assured that SSCAFCA is protecting you and your property.
SSCAFCA is committed to providing flood control to ensure the health, safety and welfare for all citizens of our jurisdiction, which includes portions of southern Sandoval County , the western portion of the Town of Bernalillo , the Village of Corrales and the City of Rio Rancho . We take our responsibility seriously and we thank you for your support.
